Children were standing in line to have a warm soak in the HotTug at Hiswa, Amsterdam.
Hiswa te Water
In September we introduced the HotTug at Hiswa, an international boat show in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. It was a great event, the weather was great, people where smiling and kids where lining up to jump in the 38° C /100° F. HotTug. We never could dream of a better introduction. This event turned our organisation upside down.

Dutch TV channel SBS 6 came to report on interest from TV Tokyo in the HotTug.
Since the introduction we’ve been published on more than 400 websites and blogs, we receive more than 300.000 visitors on our website and we’ve welcomed camera crews from all over the world. That gave some crazy situations; at a certain point Dutch TV channel SBS 6 were interviewing a TV station from TV Tokyo. Thanks for all these positive reactions! It placed HotTug worldwide on the map for sure!
Delivery took place at the beautiful water side lodges in Friesland (in the North of the Netherlands) where you can rent a holiday house and enjoy the HotTug with friends and family. You will never be without wood, because the nearby wood mill always will have some leftovers.
CE Certificate + American Boat & Yacht Council
From December onwards we comply with the ABYC-rules and received the official CE certificate.
In December we received the certificate from the Government acknowledged inspection services DCI (www.dciworldwide.eu) that the boats comply with the NEN-standards, ISO-standards and the CE-Directive of recreational craft and responds to the American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC) rules.
We are busy producing two HotTugs for the introduction in Norway, in March.
Production We made the production much more efficient which allows us to produce in series. The heat stove is professionally built and we made some slight adjustments that make the use of the HotTug more convenient. For example: some containers for drinks or clothes and a folding pipe for low bridges.
Discover all the ins and outs in this great documentary made by Discovery Channel Canada. They made a great documentary about Frank de Bruijn the designer of the HotTug, how he came up with the idea of making the HotTug. He talks about the philosophy the company and shows the design, prototyping and the making of the HotTug from his barge in Rotterdam, come and see it all.
You are invited to come and drink a nice glass of champagne with us and join us in the HotTug in 2013!
2013 will be the year where we work very hard to get our production to a level where we can keep up with the demand. Next to this we will launch our rental website in the beginning of 2013 in the Netherlands and will roll it out to other countries as soon as there will be rental stations up and running. Join us and see you soon!
